Housing and Homeless Services
The Shelter Project
operates five services for homeless
people or to avoid homelessness, 1.) Housing
for Medical Emergencies Program, motel vouchers for homeless families or
individuals encountering emergency medical situations which threaten their
health and/or safety, 2.) Emergency Rent
Assistance to avoid eviction, 3.) The
Message Center (voice mail for homeless people), 4.)
the Shelter Hotline, providing information on
availability of services to homeless and shelterless people, and 5.) a
Countywide Resource Guide. Job Training and Employment Services
Women Ventures Project
provides workforce preparation, and
job referrals in non-traditional employment for women. This is a four-week
training program accompanied by intensive case management services.
Community
Restoration Project
Components include weekend work crews for youth
and adults as an alternative to detention, follow-up job/mentoring program for
selected graduates, after school and weekend supervised work preparedness and
job readiness workshops for at-risk youth. CRP also operates the Natural
Resources and Employment Program (NREP) which
provides employment and training for low-income Santa Cruz County residents

Santa Cruz County
Immigration Project (SCCIP)
provides
immigration legal services including
citizenship, appeals, waivers, information & referral and community education &
advocacy for persons legalizing under immigration programs.
Community Building
Davenport Resource Service Center
operates
a
multi-service community center, providing outreach, transportation, information
& referral, translation, form filing, food distribution, services to children,
teenagers, and seniors & other assistance in the Davenport/North Coast area.
