Promoting Dignity
and Self Sufficiency
in Our Community
Classes take place 12 hours each week, 4 hours a day at a location outside of the jail. Gemma holds four sessions each year, and celebrates successes with two graduations each year.
The Gemma Day Program Coordinator has the goal of enrolling 15 women in each session, with on-going admissions throughout the session. Participants who are released from jail during their enrollment are strongly encouraged to continue to attend classes.
Referrals from the Blaine Street facility are given priority, but referrals are accepted from many sources including self-referrals.
